I know (I do not make models myself but I'm madly fascinated by WH 40K). But I like your model more because of the colours you used ^^. Well I don't use colours in my drawings but gives me a good idea about shadows and so on.
People argue that a nice heavy metal model feels like quality or value for money but you just can't get the same level of detail with metal. I am defo a convert to resin! Plus gluing it is totally mega! Many an hour I've spent trying in vain to hold 2 fucking metal pieces together whilst my superglue laughs at me! :anger:
Methyl Ethyl Keytone all the way! Actually, I need to see how well that works on a resin mini, so long as it doesn't melt the whole thing, it would be a great "glue". I can sympathize, my uncle just gave me a large metal dragon to paint and I'm probably going to have to do some pinning.
Yes, well, *le sigh* my uncle is my DM and I figure it's worth a try. The model is 20+ years old and has been in it's box, the beastie deserves a good paint, even if it's going to a pain in the ass. After I finish it and give it back to him, he puts it under glass and wont let anyone touch those minis. Makes a person feel special.
